Special Effex specializes in all aspects of decorative concrete, we do not install new concrete we only work with existing concrete. We do not stamp concrete. All of our patterns are created with special tools we make or, hand trowels. We take great pride in our work as it is all done by hand to create the most realistic patterns. This is art to us and, we take great pride in making your concrete resemble slate, flagstone, marble, wood etc... so keep in mind when you are looking through our website all textures created were created by hand not stamps.
We offer acid stains and dyes for coloring concrete so if you have a surface that you are looking for just a color, we can do that. If you have a surface that is stained or has a lot of glue from carpet or tile, that is not a prime surface to acid stain or dye, we can apply a microtopping which is a new concrete surface or like we like to say a new concrete canvas with an acrylic polymer overlay.
We offer complete concrete resurfacing of concrete that is deteriorating such as spalled or cracked concrete with the use of acrylic polymer overlays or microtoppings(we can repair most surfaces). Special Effex can save you thousands of dollars in tear out and replacement cost by repairing and resurfacing your existing concrete with the use of acrylic polymer overlays that are twice the strength of concrete, you will have a better surface and stronger surface.
Special Effex also offers Epoxy Coatings for concrete surfaces such as garage floors, basement floors, and industrial floors .We use industrial grade epoxy coatings that last the life of the concrete unlike the big chain store's so called epoxy coatings that will peel or flake in 6 months to a year. We use the same epoxy coatings for garage and basement floors that we use for coating industrial factories.
Special Effex also offers Concrete countertops and custom made furniture. We specialize in the Buddy Rhodes pressed finished. When most people think of concrete countertops they think of a driveway or sidewalk. This is far from the case with our finishes. The Buddy Rhodes pressed finish is one of the most beautiful concrete finishes out there. Concrete can be molded into any size or shape. Sinks can be integrated into the countertop so it is one piece. You can even add products to the mix such as glass, colored aggregate etc..
